Fourth win for Serbians
Two goals by forward Gabriel Pop at 46 and 75 minutes were enough to give Serbian White Eagles a 2-0 victory over Laval Dynamites at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke Friday night and in one other game played in the Canadian Soccer League, Windsor Border Stars nipped London City 1-0 at Cove Road in London.
It was the fourth victory in as many games for Serbian Eagles who lead the newly-formed International Division by three points over second place Toronto Croatia, while Border Stars now have a 2-1-1 WLT record for 7 points in the National Division. London City now have a 1-3-2 record for 5 points.
In an exhibition game played at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York, Cruzeiro of Brazil were too much for the CSL’s Italia Shooters, winning by a 4-2 margin on goals by Neilor Cassimoro (9 minutes), Walax Magno (60 minutes), Ricardo Junior (67 minutes) and Ernani Candido one minute later. Robb Black scored the two goals for Italia.
