Eagles romp 6-0
Three goals by forward Sasa Viciknez set the pace for a 6-0 romp by the high flying Serbian White Eagles over Caribbean Selects in a rescheduled Canadian Soccer League game at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke Thursday. The game was brought forward from July 14 to make way for an Eagles vs. Toronto Lynx Open Canada Cup clash scheduled for that Friday night.
Viciknez opened the scoring at the 28th minute mark and Nikola Budalic made it 2-0 just before the interval. Viciknez cut in from the right wing to score from 16 yards to make it 3-0 at 55 minutes and the league leading scorer Gabriel Pop struck the next two at 71 and 82 minutes, his seventh and eighth of the season for a 5-0 lead. Viciknez beat Caribbean goalkeeper Ramon McIntosh for the third time at 84 minutes, to raise his season total to six goals for the 6-0 final score.
Serbian White Eagles were dominant in every department and are now on a 6-game winning streak for 18 points, while Caribbean Selects are at a 1-3-2 WLT record for 5 points.
