LEADING GOALSCORERS SHINE IN 9-1 SUPRA ROUT OF DURHAM FLAMES

Goalscoring leaders in the Canadian Professional Soccer League had a field day at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York Wednesday night when unbeaten Toronto Supra tore through a Durham Flames� defence time and again to register a 9-1 rout over the Oshawa-based team

In one other game played Wednesday, Brampton Hitmen scored in the first minute and held on to defeat Vaughan Sun Devils 1-0 at Dufferin Clark in Vaughan. The game was crucial to the Sun Devils in their bid to qualify for the playoffs while in the case of the Hitmen, to overhaul Hamilton Thunder for top position in the Western Conference standings.

Toronto Supra striker Danny Amaral led his team with three goals, at 29, 54 and 90 minutes to lift his tally to 15 for the season, while team-mate Michael Di Luca scored twice, at the 11th minute (the game opener) and the 62nd minute for his 15th and 16th of the season.

Other Toronto Supra goals were scored by Pedro Dias (21 minutes), Martin Peraza (42 minutes) and Adam Pacheco (55 and 72 minutes).

Jahmo Welch, his 13th of the season, scored the lone goal for Durham Flames. The scoring leader to this point of the CPSL campaign is Carlo Arghittu of St. Catharines Wolves with 17 goals.

Toronto Supra are still unbeaten in regular league competition with a 10-0-6 WLT record for 36 points, within two points of Ottawa Wizards at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Both teams have two games remaining including their meeting at the OZ Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Johnny Bustamante scored the lone goal for Brampton Hitmen in the first minute of play to defeat Vaughan Sun Devils, and the Hitmen improve to 9-4-3 for 30 points, four in arrears of Hamilton Thunder, the Western Conference leaders.

The Sun Devils are still in the important qualifying third position in the Eastern Conference with 24 points, that�s one point in front of Laval Dynamites�the Sun Devils have a game in hand.

There is little change in the playoff picture with two teams to join the five having already qualified:
