SIX TEAMS REMAIN FOR ROGERS CUP AND CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CANADIAN PROFESSIONAL SOCCER LEAGUE

Six teams enter the last week of the season and the playoffs for the championship of the Canadian Professional Soccer League.Montreal Dynamites and Metro Lions will play a one-game elimination mid-week, the winner to meet Ottawa Wizards in the Eastern semi-final on Saturday afternoon at 2.05 p.m. The second semi-final will play the winner of a Wild Card game (Friday night at 8.05 p.m.) against Toronto Croatia at 4.05 p.m. The Rogers Cup Final for the CPSL championship goes on Sunday at 2.05 p.m. All games over the championship weekend are played at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York (Bathurst and Finch).The final game is followed by the league's annual award banquet at the Hollywood Princess Banquet and Convention Centre in Vaughan.

The teams remaining are: Ottawa Wizards, Montreal Dynamites and Metro Lions from the Eastern Conference, while Toronto Croatia, Mississauga Olympians, and North York Astros will be there from the west. Hamilton Thunder was eliminated on Tuesday, October 8, losing 3-2 to Mississauga Olympians in the quarter-finals. The two conference winners, Ottawa Wizards and Toronto Croatia, gained an automatic bye to the semi-finals.
