SUN DEVILS NIP HAMILTON 2-1 IN FIRST LEG QUARTER FINAL
Hamilton took the lead almost immediately after the kickoff when Leo Laurito struck at the one minute mark. Fitzroy Powell tied the score 1-1 for the Sun Devils after 15 minutes and Gus Kouzmanis scored the winner two minutes later. The two teams will meet in the return match at Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton on September 17 when the total goals winner will advance to the semi-finals. Toronto Croatia and Mississauga Olympians are the other two quarter finalists, while Ottawa Wizards and Brampton Hitmen have advanced to the semi-finals.
