SUN DEVILS ADVANCE TO SEMI-FINALS OF CPSL CANADA CUP
Vaughan's Gus Kouzmanis put his side one up at the 28th minute mark and the goal stood up to the final two minutes in the game when Thunder's Miles O'Connor tied 1-1 on a penalty kick. Sun Devils needed a tie or win to advance, having defeated Hamilton by a 2-1 score in the first leg on September 9. The stage is now set for the final qualifying game in the CPSL Canada Cup on Sunday when Mississauga Olympians take on Toronto Croatia. The first leg game produced a 1-1 deadlock on September 11. There will five teams taking part in the CPSL Canada Cup weekend, with host team London City having a Wild Card one game opportunity to be a semi-finalist on Friday, September 27. The semi-finals are played the following day and the final on Sunday, September 29, all games at the Cove Road ground in London.
