CPSL DEFENDING CHAMPIONS ST. CATHARINES ROMA WOLVES ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFFS
Hayden Fitzwilliams was the hero in the Olympians win, scoring a natural hat-trick before Damen Basak added a fourth five minutes from time. The Olympians improve to a 7-5-5 WLT record for 26 points, enough to assure the Mississauga-based team of a spot in the playoffs. St. Catharines ended the season with a 6-7-6 record for 24 points. Goalkeeper Andy Luchetta, shipped in from the Niagara Peninsula Premier Soccer League, had an inauspicious debut in the CPSL, conceding the four goals in the Roma nets. Metro Lions won their ninth game of the season, second only to Ottawa Wizards who have 12 wins at the top of the Eastern Conference. Mike Glasgow, Carmin Allegranz and Caswain Mason tallied for the Lions, while Altin Ruci, a sometimes goalkeeper for London City, is equally adept playing out and scored the lone goal for London City. Lions have a 9-5-0 record for 27 points, three points clear of third place York Region Shooters. London City are sixth in the Western Conference with 12 points from a 2-8-6 record.
