TORONTO CROATIA WINS CANADA CUP QUALIFIER; WIZARDS, DYNAMITES WIN, ASTROS, LONDON TIE
Robert Fran opened the scoring for Toronto Croatia at the 23rd minute of the last qualifying game in the CPSL Canada Cup before the teams assemble for the Wild Card game, semi-finals and final in London this weekend. Mladen Dikic added a second at 79 minutes and Josip Juric added a third six minutes later for a 3-0 elimination of Mississauga Olympians. Ottawa Wizards keep rolling along with the 4-0 shutout of York Region Shooters on goals by Kevin Nelson, Sherland David, Brent Antoine and Roger Groome. Ottawa now has a 14-1-1 WLT record for 43 points, the Shooters stand at 8-7-3 for 27 points. Montreal Dynamites took a 2-0 lead on second half goals by Mensa Khalio and Karl Irvin Stephen and Jamal Jupiter pulled one back for Durham Flames five minutes from time.Les Dynamites improve to 7-4-3 for 24 points in the Eastern Conference, Durham stands at 7-9-2 for 23 points. At Esther Shiner Stadium in North York, Lukesz Krakowiak put the Astros 1-0 up at the 35th minute mark, but London City came back to tie the score 1-1 on a strike by Janko Stukic after 59 minutes. Astros are at 2-9-5 for 11 points, London City stands at 2-9-7 for 13 points in the Western Conference.
