WIZARDS WIN, DYNAMITES KEEP PACE AND BRAMPTON IMPRESSIVE IN CUP
Abraham Osman scored twice (10 and 63 minutes)for the Wizards following Kevin Nelson's opening strike at the 7-minute mark, and Carmen Allegranz scored the lone goal after 34 minutes for Metro Lions. Montreal Dynamites held their second place in the east with a narrow 2-1 win over lowly North York Astros, the game taking place at Lachine. Leo Incollingo opened the scoring for Les Dynamites and Khalid Mensah scored the winner. Kadian Lecky tallied for the Astros. Ottawa move to a 8-1-1 WLT record for 25 points in the Eastern Conference, while Montreal have a 5-2-3 record for 18 points. Metro Lions sit in sixth position in the east with nine points from a 3-5-0 record and North York Astros are at the foot of the Western Conference with five points from a 1-5-2 record. In Second Round (First Leg) League Cup action at the Civic Stadium in Oshawa, the Flames had difficulty coping with a lively Brampton Hitmen attack and eventually went down to defeat by a 5-1 score. Kurt Mella scored a pair for the Hitmen, with singles from Phil Ionadi, Yusif Jamamdo and Carlysle Prowell. The lone Durham goal came from the penalty spot.
